Introduction

Since the ages past, Prayagraj has been acknowledged as a centre of religion, education and Indian culture. It has always occupied a place in India as a prominent place of learning and Knowledge. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Post Graduate College is a Constituent college of the University of Allahabad in which higher education in the faculty of Arts, Science and Commerce is imparted at Graduate and Post Graduate level. The College presents a curious mix of Rurban Culture and relevant courses of the University of Allahabad.

In view of the aspirations of City-North of Prayagraj and ever growing surge of admission seekers in the city, the college was establised by the State of Uttar Pradesh on 25th September 1997. During its brief tenure, the college has earned a distinct place and recognition in the city with its excellent academic and co-curricular performance amongst the Constituent Colleges of University of Allahabad, situated adjacent to the Holy River Ganges, the serene campus of the college is most suitable for teaching & learning. Experienced Teachers, equipped Laboratories and rich Library are hallmark of this institution. For over all development of students, the college regularly conducts various Co-Curricular activities which introduce students to the cultural diversity, rich heritage and changing social environment of the country.

Admission Criteria (Post Graduate Courses)

The admission in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. First Year, in this institution shall be granted on the basis of the results of the PGAT-2022, conducted by the University of Allahabad. Reservation in admission seats shall be based on the provisions of Ordinance/Statutes/ Regulations/Guidelines/ Circulars promulgated/issued by the MHRD/UGC & University of Allahabad from time to time. The candidate is invariably required to submit/attached following documents during online admission process.

 

(A) For All candidates seeking admission in the Ist Year PG Courses, attached the scanned copy of the following documents

1. PGAT 2022 admit card.

2. Marksheet & Certificates of High School.

3. Marksheet & Certificates of Intermediate Board.

4. Marksheet and certificate of Graduation.

5. Passport size latest Coloured Photograph with name of the Candidate.

6. Transfer Certificate (TC)/ migration issued by the last Institution

7. Character Certificate (CC) issued by the last Institution (Not more than six month) or Character Certificate issued by Gadget officer (in case of gap year)  

8. AADHAR Card

9. Annexure-I & II of the UGC Regulations on “Curbing the Menace or Ragging in Higher Education Institutions (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2013.

 

(B). Rules/Requirement for admission in PG 2nd Year/3rd Semester (Self-Financing)—

All students of this institution, declared pass by the University in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. 1st Year/2nd Semester in the current academic session shall be eligible for admission in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. 2nd Year/3rd Semester respectively. Students seeking admission for the next class will have to submit the duly filled online admission form along with the following documents.

(i) Scanned copy of marksheet of the previous year.

(ii) Scanned copy of pass port size coloured Photographs.

(iii) Annexure-I & II of the UGC Regulations on “Curbing the Menace of Ragging

in Higher Education Institutions (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2013.

(iv) Photocopy of AADHAR Card.

 

 

NOTE :

 

1. It shall mandatory for the candidate to appear in person for original documents verification before the Admission Committee with print out of the admission form, all the original documents, two passport size photo and a self attested copy of all above said documents. Transfer Certificate/migration and Character Certificate (CC) will be submitted original on the verification day. The candidate is required to opt subjects, available in the college at the time of admission. The candidate will be admitted in the faculty, for which he/she has appeared in PGAT 2022

 

2. In default of any aforesaid document, the Admission shall not be granted to the candidate. The Candidate will forfeit his/her claim of admission in case of his/her failure to present the original documents to the admission committee on the verification day.

 

3. During any stage of admission/study, if it is proved that the admission was taken on any false information/forged documents, such admission shall be liable to be cancelled and the fee deposited will be forfeited. The college may initiate penal action against such defaulter.

 

Reservation Policy for Self-Financing PG Courses.

1. Reservation in admission in PG (Self-Financing Courses) shall be governed by the Reservations policy as enforced/amended by the MHRD/UGC& University of Allahabad.

2. If after giving due opportunity for admission in reserved category seats, nevertheless, remains vacant in any or all of the reserved categories, the same may be filled by the institution from amongst the eligible candidates available for admission irrespective of any social category.

 

Non-Subject candidates will also be considered for admission in PG (Self-Financing) Courses with eligibility Conditions as University of Allahabad rules of PGAT Admission -2022.

 

NOTE : The Candidate will deposit fee online through internet banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI by CC Avenue channel. Other mode of fee deposition such as NEFT/IMPS, etc. will not be accepted

NOTE : 1. The annual fee + Examination fee will be refunded after 15 days to such candidates if the admission is not granted by the college/ admission committee during original documents verification time.

 

3. Refund of Fee

No fee will be refunded to the student after admission granted in the institution. Students are advised to apply for admission in PG Self-Financing Courses, giving careful thought to this no-refund policy of the institution in Self-Financing Courses.
